Samba Mapangala

Singer Samba Mapangala hails originally from the Congo, but has lived and performed variously in Uganda, Kenya, and the United States. Mapangala formed the Orchestra Virunga in the early 1980s, and their scintillating mix of rhumba, soukous, and leaner African forms has become legendary.
