$10,000 Gold Chain was a one-off side project headed by Mike McCready, best known as Pearl Jam's lead guitarist, Green Apple Quick Step's Mari Ann Braeden on vocals and bass, and Ty willman on vocals . The project released only one recording, a cover of the Velvet Underground's "Oh! Sweet Nuthin'" in 1996 for the soundtrack to the movie The Cable Guy. McCready also featured on the recordings of the band Mad Season, featring the late Alice in Chains vocalist Layne Staley, who McCready had allegedly met while in rehab for heroin addiction.
